EDUCATION OUTREACH

PacificLight has partnered with numerous organisations including the National Environmental Agency, the People’s Association and the National Library Board amongst others, to shed light on sustainability-linked topics. Through our outreach events, we garner involvement from the public through conversations about the environment and encourage the adoption of sustainable practices.

Since 2016, our Crea8 Education Outreach has reached out to over 20,000 students through a suit of educational outreach programmes, including site tours, partnerships with local schools, sustainability seminars and competitions in the belief that we can all be catalysts of change to create a more sustainable future.

SDC Sustainability Festival

PacificLight was invited as an exhibition partner at the Sustainability Festival organised by the Singapore Discovery Centre (SDC). Held over 3 days during the March term break, we showcased our efforts in sustainability education with a display of some oprevious winning entries from our Crea8 Sustainability Competition as well as a presentation on recycling of non-recyclable materials.

Environmental Talk with Republic Polytechnic

Organised by Republic Polytechnic, Pacificlight’s Senior Manager was invited to give a career talk to the tertiary institution’s School of Applied Science cohort on her experiences in the Singapore energy industry and the importance of continued learning, as well as on the company’s efforts in sustainability.

My First Skool's Learning and Sharing Festival

PacificLight took part in My First Skool’s Learning and Sharing Festival 2019 which is held at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre. Teachers and parents attending the event got to learn more about the impact of climate change has on the world around us and how to impart relevant knowledge and practices to young children to create a more sustainable future.

Crea8 Sustainability Competition Showcase

PacificLight organises an annual Crea8 Sustainability Competition Exhibition Showcase. Held at different locations each year, visitors to the exhibition showcase are able to view creative artwork and art pieces based on sustainability themes by competition winners from the primary, secondary and tertiary levels. Past exhibition showcases had been held at the Singapore Science Centre, the annual NEA Clean and Green Carnival, National Library Board, the Sustainable Singapore Gallery and Singapore Discovery Centre.

People's Association Women for Climate Action

PacificLight participated as a exhibition partner at the People’s Association eco-themed carnival “Women for Climate Action” at Toa Payoh HDB Hub in 2018. Together with showcases by National Environment Agency (NEA), local environmental groups and Women’s Executive Committee (WEC) interest groups, PacificLight shared with visitors on best practices in energy efficiency and water savings.
