COMPETITION RULES (SECONDARY LEVEL)
- PacificLight’s 2025 Crea8 Sustainability Secondary-Level Competition (“the Competition”) is open to all secondary level students studying in Singapore at MOE-registered secondary schools and/or international educational institutions and home schoolers.
- All submissions must be registered online at submission entry page by 11:59pm on Friday, 5 May 2025.
- Participants can work individually or in a group with up to four (4) members.
- Submissions will only be considered successful once all the required details have been provided and the group’s project proposal and visual representations have been uploaded.
- Submission requirements:
- Create either
- a unique eco-friendly product prototype made from recyclable material, that enhances an aspect of one’s daily life, OR
- a wearable fashion item made from either recycled or upcycled materials, including textiles.
- A presentation slide deck on either the product prototype or wearable fashion item addressing the following
- Description of the eco-friendly product or fashion item.
- What is the inspiration behind the product prototype or fashion item.
- Where and/or how the eco-friendly product will be used and its benefit(s).
- The design process from idealisation to realisation
- Visual representations in the form of photos or short video clip of the product prototype or wearable item.
- The presentation and photos/video clip of the product prototype or wearable item to be submitted together via the registration portal in the following format:
- Presentation in PDF not exceeding 20 MB
- Photograph JPG/JPEG/ PDF not exceeding 20MB or video clip in wmv/mp4 not exceeding 50MB
- Submissions will only be considered successful once all the required details have been provided and the group’s project proposal and visual representations have been uploaded.
- The submission must be an original creation. Original creation means it has been created directly and personally by the participant. Direct copying or imitating another person’s work is not considered to be original work.
- If PacificLight has reason to believe that a submission is not original, it may request for evidence. Any submission that is not considered original will be rejected and disqualified from the Competition.
- By submitting an entry to the Competition, participants hereby represent and warrant that the submission does not and shall not knowingly infringe any copyright or any other relevant rights of any party or third party. It is the legal responsibility of participant(s), not PacificLight to ensure compliance with all ownership and copyright requirements are met.
- Each participant or group may only submit one entry to the Competition. Multiple entries from the same participant or group will be disqualified.
- It is the submitter’s responsibility to ensure that participant(s) details are entered correctly and the best to his/her knowledge.
- Each submission made by the teacher on behalf of student or group must be accompanied by a completed Parent Consent Form from each group members in the following format. Entries without a completed parent/guardian consent form shall be disqualified.

- File size: Not exceeding 10MB
- By submitting an entry to the Competition, the participant grants PacificLight an unlimited worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use and reproduce the participant’s works, including content, images and drawings at the prize presentation ceremony and showcase exhibition, for any and all of PacificLight’s purposes including its advocacy of sustainable energy use.
- All uses of the submission will be non-commercial, and participants will be credited.
- The participant retains all copyright to his or her original submission.
- By submitting an entry, the participant provides consent to PacificLight to make reference to their name and school for the purpose of identifying them as the creator of the submission.
- Any false representation, erroneous information, or violation of these rules and regulations or general objectives of the competition (such as receiving help to create the submission), will result in immediate disqualification of the participant from the Competition.
- Decisions on the winning submission will be made by a judging panel comprising of PacificLight staff and third parties that PacificLight may choose to engage. The judges’ decision is final.
- The Competition is open to all Secondary students studying in Singapore.
- Prizes for the winners are as follows:
- Gold – $400 POPULAR vouchers + trophy + Certificate of Award
- Silver – $300 POPULAR vouchers + trophy + Certificate of Award
- Bronze – $200 POPULAR vouchers + trophy + Certificate of Award
- At their discretion, judges may award up to 5 Merit Awards. No prizes will be awarded for Merit participants, but a Certificate of Merit will be issued.
- Winners will be notified via email based on the contact provided in the entry submission in early May 2025. Further details on the date and time of the prize presentation ceremony will be provided to the winners nearer to the date.

- The Competition is not open to children/wards of PacificLight Power Pte Ltd or PacificLight Energy Pte Ltd employees or supporting partners.
