COMPETITION RULES (PRIMARY LEVEL)
- PacificLight’s 2025 Crea8 Sustainability Primary-Level Competition (“the Competition”) is open to all primary students studying in Singapore at any MOE-registered primary school, and/or international educational institutions and home schoolers.
- All submissions must be registered online at submission entry page by 11:59pm on Friday, 2 May 2025.
- The competition is divided into two categories:
- For Lower Primary (Primary 1 to Primary 3)
Using recyclable or non-recyclable materials to create a unique hands-on game piece
- For Upper Primary (Primary 4 to Primary 6)
Sustainability-themed board or card games
- Submission requirements:
- Creating a unique hands-on game piece (Lower Primary) or sustainability-themed board or card games (Upper Primary). Students working on the hands-on game piece or sustainability-themed board or card game are encouraged to use recyclable materials that would have otherwise been thrown away.
- Lower Primary participants can draw inspiration from an existing game concept, such as a ring toss, etc to design a unique and creative hands-on game with an exciting twist.
- Upper Primary participants submitting a sustainability-themed board or card game are required to design their game around one or more sustainability topics, such as biodiversity, electricity and water conservation, waste management and recycling, food security, or climate change, etc.
- The hands-on game piece and sustainability-themed board or card game must be an original creation. Original creation means it is created directly and personally by the student. Direct copying or imitating another person’s work is not considered an original submission. Direct replication of an existing game piece or board/card game is not considered an original submission.
- The entry must be submitted together with a short write-up describing the game piece or board/card game in 100 words or less, and a clear and concise Player Instruction Guide or Sheet.
- A photograph image of the hands-on game piece or sustainability-themed board or card game must be submitted via the registration portal in the following format:
- File Type: JPEG/JPG/PDF
- Upload File size: Not exceeding 20MB
- A clear and concise Player Instruction Guide or Sheet to explain about the created game and how it is played.

- Each participant may only submit one entry to the Competition. Multiple entries from the same participant will be disqualified.
- It is the submitter’s responsibility to ensure that participant(s) details are entered correctly to the best of his/her knowledge.
- Submissions will only be considered successful once all the required details have been provided and an image of the student’s project, together with the supporting materials of a short write-up and instructions for the created game, have been uploaded.
- A completed Parent Consent Form is required to be uploaded if the submission is made by a teacher on behalf of a student as a legal requirement for minors. All submissions by teachers require a completed and signed Parent Consent From in the following format to be uploaded. Entries without a completed parent/guardian consent shall be disqualified.

- If PacificLight has reason to believe that a submission is not original, it may request evidence. Any submission that is not considered original will be rejected or disqualified from the Competition.
- By submitting an entry to the Competition, the participant hereby grants PacificLight an unlimited worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, display, prepare derivative works of any and all submitted works in any and all media, whether now known or hereinafter created, throughout the world in connection with PacificLight’s purposes including its advocacy of sustainable energy use.
- All uses of the submission will be non-commercial, and participants will be credited.
- The participant retains all copyright to their original submissions.
- By submitting an entry, a participant provides consent for PacificLight to make reference to their name and school for the purpose of identifying them as the creator of the submission.
- Any false representation, erroneous information, or violation of these rules and regulations or general objectives of the competition (such as receiving help to create the submission), will result in immediate disqualification of the participant from the Competition.
- Entries will be judged based on the participant’s originality, creativity and relevance to the theme.
- Decisions on the winning submission for each category will be made by a judging panel comprising of PacificLight staff and third parties that PacificLight may choose to engage. The judges’ decision is final.
- The Competition is open to all Primary students studying in Singapore. Winners will be awarded within 2 groups – Lower Primary: Primary 1 to 3 and Upper Primary: Primary 4 to 6.
- Prizes for each group are as follows:
- Champion – $200 POPULAR vouchers, trophy and Certificate of Award
- 1st Runner-up – $150 POPULAR vouchers, trophy and Certificate of Award
- 2nd Runner-up – $100 POPULAR vouchers, trophy and Certificate of Award
- Up to 3 Merit winners – $50 POPULAR vouchers and Certificate of Award each
- At their discretion, judges may award up to 4 Honourable Mentions. No prizes will be awarded for Honourable Mentions.
- Winners will be notified via email based on the contact provided in the entry submission in May 2025.

- The Competition is not open to the children/wards of PacificLight Power Pte Ltd or PacificLight Energy Pte Ltd employees or supporting partners.
- By submitting an entry to the Competition, participants hereby represent and warrant that the submission does not and shall not knowingly infringe any copyright or any other relevant rights of any party or third party.
